As part of the Month of Ukraine in the United Arab Emirates, the Consulate of Ukraine in Dubai officially opened the “Book Oasis” bookshelf — a space dedicated to the Ukrainian word, culture, and living memory.
The event was attended by H.E. Oleksandr Balanutsa, Ambassador of Ukraine to the UAE, and Mr. Oleksii Liashenko, Consul of Ukraine in Dubai, highlighting the importance of cultural diplomacy and support for the Ukrainian community.

The initiative was implemented with the support of the Ukrainian Women’s Initiative in the UAE, which consistently contributes to cultural and humanitarian projects aimed at preserving Ukrainian identity abroad.
“Book Oasis” is an initiative designed to support the Ukrainian language, reading, and cultural presence abroad, creating a place for connection, dialogue, and mutual understanding.
A book is more than a text. It is memory, identity, and a link between generations. Through the written word, we preserve who we are and pass our meanings forward — regardless of distance.
The opening of the bookshelf at the Consulate of Ukraine in Dubai became another meaningful event within the Month of Ukraine in the UAE, strengthening Ukraine’s cultural presence and supporting the Ukrainian community.

Details on how the bookshelf operates and how the book exchange will work will be shared soon — please stay tuned.

Ukraine reads. Ukraine speaks. Ukraine is near.
